YSR Congress president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy will undertake a 'padayatra' (foot march) from November 2to connect with people and highlight the "failures" of the TDP-led government in Andhra Pradesh.
The 44-year-old opposition leader will start the march from his family estate in Idupulapaya, Kadapa district.
The foot march, during which Reddy will cover a distance of about 3,000 km across the state in six months, is intended as a mass contact programme to highlight the "failures" of the Chandrababu Naidu government.
The YSRCP chief will also explain the "nava ratnas", the nine main promises he gave to people at the party's plenary this year, "for the welfare of the state and the people".
Reddy announced his programme schedule at a youth rally here today.
"My padayatra will begin from Idupulapaya and the course would run from Chittoor to Ichchapuram (in Srikakulam district bordering Odisha) covering the entire state.
"The padayatra will continue for six months and cover about 3,000 km. I will tell people how the 'nava ratnas' will roll out in the welfare state (based on ideals of his father, late Chief Minister YSR Reddy) where all sections of people would be happy," he said.
