Jail superintendent shifted after woman alleges harassment

The superintendtent of the District Jail here has been transferred after a former inmate levelled allegations of sexual harassment against him.
The official, Anoop Singh, has been shifted to district jail in Pilibhit with immediate effect. P P Singh has been posted in his place, DIG (prisons) Agra, Sharad, said.
The victim, who was released from jail on May 9, also alleged that a warden, Pushpa, had colluded with Singh.
She first moved an application against the official when she was imprisoned. After her release from jail, she complained to the District Magistrate as well as police officials in Lucknow.

The DIG (prisons) has recorded the evidence and statements of both parties and submitted a report in the matter.
Singh, meanwhile, has refuted the allegations against him.
