The Uttarakhand High Court today posted the short-term bail plea of former MP from Uttar Pradesh D P Yadav, who is serving a life term in connection with the 1992 murder of Mahendra Bhati, an MLA from Ghaziabad's Dadri area, for hearing after three weeks.
Yadav has applied for short-term bail on medical grounds, stating that he is unwell and needs treatment.
A division bench of justices Sudhanshu Dhulia and Lokpal Singh asked the state government to submit Yadav's MRI report before the court and posted the matter after three weeks.
Sentenced to life imprisonment by a CBI court here in March,2015, Yadav has been cooling his heels in a Dehradun jail since.
Bhati was shot dead at the Dadri railway crossing in December, 1992.
