Jaiprakash Power Ventures Q2 loss narrows to Rs 156 cr

Jaiprakash Power Ventures' standalone loss narrowed to Rs 156.55 crore in the September quarter on the back of higher revenues from power business.
The company's standalone net loss stood at Rs 161.67 crore in the quarter ended September 2016, Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd said in a BSE filing today.
The company's total revenue increased to Rs 941.09 crore in the quarter from Rs 688.49 crore in the year-ago period.
Revenue from power business increased to Rs 822.46 crore from Rs 659.91 crore earlier.
However, its revenue from coal segment declined to Rs 77.39 crore compared to Rs 91.19 crore a year ago.
The company said that along with its subsidiaries, it has an aggregate power generation capacity of 4,200 MW (400 MW hydro and 3,800 MW thermal).
