Jaitley to preside over historic Khalsa College's convocation

Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will preside over the 108th annual convocation of historic Khalsa College here tomorrow.
Khalsa College Principal Mehal Singh today said that apart from distributing the degrees and heading the function, Jaitley will deliver the convocation address to the gathering of students and faculty of the college.
More than 226 students from various post-graduate classes will be awarded degrees and 50 other meritorious students will be honoured with the gold medals at the academic function being organized at Sunder Singh Majithia hall.
The convocation will also be attended by Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal. Union Ministers Venkaiah Naidu and Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Deputy CM Sukhbir Badal, Cabinet Ministers Bikram Singh Majithia and Gulzar Singh Ranike along with BJP state chief Kamal Sharma will also be present for the function.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has recently granted "heritage" status to the college and is rated A-grade by a National Accreditation and Assessment Council.
