Jalyukta Shivar project to cover 20,000 villages: Fadnavis

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today said that the 'Jalyukta Shivar' project will be undertaken in 20,000 villages with the aim being to help them end the problem of water scarcity.
Fadnavis reviewed the progress of the project at Pachod, Chittegaon and other villages of the district.
As of now, 6,000 villages have undertaken this project and, in the coming two years, 11,000 more villages will be added to the list, he said.
Jalyukta Shivar, the state government's integrated water conservation and management initiative, aims to make Maharashtra water scarcity-free in five years.
