Jammu and Kashmir police today submitted a charge sheet against five accused, including an examination centre superintendent, who were involved in a racket of mass copying in school board examinations.
"A criminal case under various sections of the RPC was registered in 2012 against five people, including Shamsher Singh, the then superintendent of the examination centre, for allowing mass copying and allowing students to impersonate," Senior Superintendent of Police Crime Branch Mubassir Latifi said.
An investigations by the crime branch established that a student named Prabjot Singh was allowed to impersonate himself as Parvinder Singh as he was allowed to sit in the examination hall, Latifi said.
"At that time the answer sheet, roll number slip and attendance sheet were seized though a seizure memo prepared on the spot," he said.
Further probe revealed that students were indulging in mass copying and other activities in connivance with staff deployed by Jammu and Kashmir state board of school education.
After the offences were established against Shamsheer Singh, Pawan Kumar, Parvinder Singh, Prabhjoht Singh and Sukhbir Singh, a case was registered against them and the charge sheet was submitted before the Chief Judicial Magistrate in Jammu, the officer added.
