Jamsetji Tata's birth anniversary observed

Private steel major Tata Steel today observed 176th birth anniversary of its founder Jamsetji N Tata with people from across the society and employees and officials of Tata group of companies taking part in the programme here.
Tata Steel and Tata associated company officials including the Tata Sons Chairman Cyrus P Mistry, MD & CEO, Tata Steel, Europe, Dr Karl Ulrich Koehler, and Tata Steel MD (India and South East Asia), T V Narendran, were among the dignitaries who paid floral tribute to the great visionary inside the company works.
Mistry flagged off the founders day pageantry, which was taken out with the support of the citizens of Jamshedpur and the local administration.
Around 2000 participants took part in the pageantry that incuded tableaus from associate companies, social organizations, Jamshedpur Armed Force and Rapid Action Force.
Speaking on the occasion, Mistry said "I am delighted and honoured to be here in Jamshedpur on the occasion of the 176th Birth Anniversary of our Founder. On this day, we cherish the memory of Jamsetji Tata and resolve to live up to his high ideals in the growth of Tata Companies here and elsewhere in the world.
"This also happens to be the year in which Tata Power, another of our Founder's visionary projects which is one of the key energy suppliers to Jamshedpur, observes its 100th anniversary," he said.
Earlier on Monday evening, Koehler inaugurated the 7th Technical Exhibition (TechEx 2015), an exhibition of engineering prowess at Shavak Nanavati Technical Institute.
As many as 44 projects are being showcased by participants including trainees, various departments of Tata Steel and organisations like Jusco, Tata Motors, Tayo Rolls, Tata Metalliks, TCIL and NTTF.
