JAP personnel commits suicide

A Jharkhand Armed Police (JAP) personnel has committed suicide after being allegedly harassed by his trainer at a training centre here, the police said today.
Havildar Veer Bhagat Singh, 34, shot himself in the neck by his INSAS rifle yesterday and died on way to hospital, DIG (Special Task Force) Praveen Kumar Singh said.
According to police sources, Singh, who hailed from Bihar's Ara district, joined Jharkhand Armed Police in 2000 and was undergoing counter-insurgency advance training for the last one month at the STF Training Centre here.
Prima facie, the sources said an alleged heated argument took place yesterday morning between Singh and his trainer.
Director General of Police Rajeev Kumar said that the DIG (STF) would inquire into the incident.
