Japanese Encephalitis claims three in Barpeta

A pregnant woman died today due to Japanese Encephalitis, taking the toll to three so far from this disease in Barpeta district.
According to health department officials, the pregnant woman identified as Jumi Begum from Bhella village was admitted at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital a few days ago and died this morning.
So far, around 20 persons have been affected by Japanese Encephalitis across the district.
Yesterday, an aged person died due to this disease at Satra Baradi village.
On June 28, a 28-year-old youth lost his life due to Japanese Encephalitis at Sarbhog.
