Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee executive member Jarnail Nangal today quit Congress alleging that in the party, money played a "stellar role" in allotment of tickets to contest polls.
Nangal, a former state General Secretary of BSP, who had joined Congress on March 23 last year, said joining the party was the "biggest blunder" of his life.
Terming Congress "dhokebaazon di jamaat" (congregation of cheaters), he alleged, "In Congress, money, not merit, played stellar role in allotment of poll tickets."
"When I raised the issue of selling of tickets with senior Congress leadership, they said it prevailed in the party," Nangal alleged.
Claiming that he had joined Congress with the hope of getting Punjab rid of the "gundaraj" of the Akalis, he alleged, "Congress turned out to be no different from SAD. Both are chips of the same block.
