Jason Statham lands villainous role in 'Fast 7'

'Transporter' star Jason Statham is reportedly set to star as the bad guy in the seventh installment of the speed action film franchise 'Fast and Furious'. The 45-year-old actor is set to play Ian, the older brother of 'Fast and Furious 6' villain Owen Shaw, played by Luke Evans, reported Ace Showbiz. This is not the first time Statham has been associated with the 'Fast and Furious' film franchise. Back in 2011, the 'Parker' actor was offered the part of Owen before he turned it down and the role eventually went to Evans. In 'Fast 6', Vin Diesel is back as Dom and Paul Walker returns as Brian. The high-octane film will be released in the US on May 24. It also stars Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Gina Carano, Joe Taslim and Ludacris.
