Jawam killed in exchange of fire during infilteration bid

An army jawanwas today killed in an exchange of fire with militants as the forcefoiled an infiltration bid along Line of Control (LoC) inKupwara sector ofnorth Kashmir.
A group of militants, tryingto infiltrate,was intercepted early this morning by alert troops deployed on the LoC, an army official said.
The militants fired upon the forces leading to an encounter.
In the ensuing gunfight,Sepoy Ramesh Chand Yadav sustained bullet injury, the official said.
He said whilebeing evacuated, thesoldier succumbed to his injuries.
The operation to flush out militants was on when the lastreports reached, the official said.
