Ram Bahadur (46) of 24th Assam Rifles, posted in Tengnoupal area in Chandel district bordering Myanmar, pumped three bullets in his stomach and was immediately taken to the army hospital on September 2. His condition is stated to be serious, they said.
An investigation has been ordered to know what prompted Bahadur, who had served in the central para-military forces for more than 27 years, to take such a step, the sources said.
