Jawan injured in landmine explosion

A team of about 20 personnel of the elite anti-naxal Special Operations Group (SOG) and CRPF was undertaking combing operation at Dangarareli in Kalyansingpur police station limit when the landmine blast took place, they said.

SOG jawan Surendranath Das was critically injured in the blast while the rest of the combing team members escaped unhurt, a senior police officer said.

The injured personnel was first admitted to a local hospital and subsequently shifted to Vishakapatnam for treatment, he said.
