Earthmoving and construction equipment maker JCB India today said it is leveraging technology by integrating "Big Data and Internet of Things" in its products and services.
"Innovation has always been the cornerstone of JCB's philosophy. On the back of this year's theme of 'Smart Technologies: Fuelling the Next Generation Infra', we have introduced smart and digitally enhanced technologies in our products and services," company's MD and CEO Vipin Sondhi said in a statement.
"We are stepping up our offerings to provide the latest solutions based on the evolving customer trends through customer centric apps and by integrating Internet of Things through our advanced Telematics Technology, Livelink," Sondhi said.
While Big Data refers to very huge and complicated data sets whose processing is not possible with normal applications.
Internet of Things refers to microprocessor and sensor fitted gadgets or 'things' within a network talking to each other, swapping real-time data and information to perform specific actions, with computer-connected individuals engaged in remote monitoring.
M2M communication can include a gas, electricity or water meter communicating information it records such as consumption level, or a vending machine alerting distributor when stocks run low, or even transmission of data about personal appliances.
JCB India showcased an exciting line up of innovative and intelligent machines at the 9th edition of Excon 2017 in Bangalore.
The new range of intelligent machines exhibit the blend of technology and digital innovation to meet the demand for world class machines to build country's Next Gen Infrastructure.
"We are, as always, delighted to be a part of Excon, South Asia's largest Construction Equipment Exhibition. Through continual innovation, range of intelligent machines is being used in infrastructure projects, and not only in India, but also in over 85 countries where JCBs Made in India machines have been exported to," Sondhi said.
"We have made the iconic JCB Backhoe Loader even better with the introduction of five worlds first features, including an AMT which is an Automated Manual Transmission called Easy Shift," Sondhi added.
