The committee protested in Imphal East, Imphal West, Bishnupur and Thoubal districts of Manipur, police said.
In Imphal East district, JCILPS Jiribam branch-sponsored 48-hour public curfew ended yesterday, the police spokesman said.
The call was given to press for implementation of Inner Line Permit system and action against police personnel whose alleged firing killed student agitator Sapam Robinhood on July 8 last.
As part of the ongoing protests today women "Meira Paibi" members of Heingang area, Thumbuthong area of Namon Leikai, Khurai Angom Leikai, Wangkhei area, Wangkhei Andro Parking area of Imphal East district of Manipur staged sit-in protest since morning, in support of JCILPS movement, he said.
The protesters consisted of five organisations and also included child students from the locality and Sangaiporou, the police spokesman said.
