JD(U),BJP reach understanding for 3 Bihar Council seats polls

Forgetting recent bickering's, NDA partners JD(U) and BJP have reached understanding for three seats of state Legislative Council that will go to polls on May 9.
As per the understanding, while JD(U) will contest on two seats its ally BJP will field candidate on one.
State BJP Vice President Sanjay Mayukh said in a statement today that Vivek Thakur, son of party national vice president and former union minister C P Thakur will be party nominee for the seat.
On the other hand, state JD(U) President Bashist Narayan Singh announced through a release names of Manzar Alam and Rajkishore Singh Kushwaha for the two seats the party will contest.

The understanding between NDA partners came following talks between Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi.
The agreement comes close on the heels of bickering between two parties in the wake of JD(U) conclave which made some stringent statements targeted at Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, considered a strong probable for the post of Prime Ministership from BJP in 2014 Lok Sabha polls.

The political scene had hotted up in the state with BJP leaders including Deputy CM making strong protest against JD(U).
The three seats of the Council have fallen vacant following deaths of JD(U) Ramashray Prasad Singh and RJD's Badshah Prasad Azad and Ramchandra Prasad.

With 118 MLAs of JD(U) and 91 of BJP in the 243-member Bihar Assembly, the three NDA nominees are all set to romp home easily. The RJD of Lalu Prasad which has been decimated in the assembly and Parliamentary elections will loose its two legislators in the council.
