Bengali film superstar Jeet, having delivered three back-to-back formula hits, today sprinted on the maidan as the Face of 25K distance run, a initiative to teach fitness basics to work-stuck Kolkatans.
"Running is the pre-requisite to stay fit, to drive away the blues. As an actor I am always available to instill health awareness among people," Jeet, basking in the success of Game and Bachchan, said while unveiling 'Step Up Kolkata', a unique fitness training event.
Egging on the autograph hunters and those who came to pose for selfie to get up and hit the greens every morning or whenever possible on a regular basis, Jeet was flanked by upcoming actor Moubani Sarkar among other celebs in the Tata Steel 'Kolkata 25K' event.
Apart from the celebrities, participants of all age groups took part.
The initiative preceded the December 28 marathon when the entire city will run under 25K (elite and amateurs), Open 10K (amateurs), Ananda Run (6 km), Senior Citizens' Run (4 km), and Champions with Disability (4 km).
