Jennifer Lopez wants Nick Jonas as her leading man in live television musical "Bye Bye Birdie."
The 47-year-old singer will play Rosie DeLeon, the girlfriend of fictional rock star Conrad Birdie's manager Albert Peterson in the ambitious project, reported Contactmusic.
Lopez will also executive produce the one-off, alongside Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, Benny Medina, Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, and the group has put together a "dream list" of who they want to appear in the TV special.
Jonas is among the actors Lopez would like to cast as Conrad.
"His name has come up...," she told "Watch What Happens Live!'
"We're talking about a lot of different people right now. We're not at the stage where we're actively casting, but all the producers and the network, we're all talking about, like, our dream list and he was definitely one of the people on the list."
The musical will air in America in December.
"Bye Bye Birdie" was originally written as a stage musical, and won a Tony Award in 1961 for best musical as well as a gong for best actor in a musical for DICk Van Dyke's portrayal of Albert.
The production was then adapted into a movie in 1963, with Van Dyke reprising his role as Albert and Janet Leigh starring as Rosie.
