Jharkhand Disom Party merges with BJP

Jharkhand Disom Party (JDP) formally merged with the BJP in presence of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda here today.
Announcing the merger, Munda said a strong wave in favour of BJP was sweeping across the country and a host of political leaders irrespective of their party affiliations have expressed their willingness to join or return to the party fold.
"Prime Minister Narendra Modi was accepted by the people for his emphasis on 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas' campaign after he assumed the office of Prime Minister," Munda said.
"The people of mineral-rich Jharkhand are expecting a similar change in the next Assembly elections as BJP can provide a strong government instead of a helpless one for political stability and rapid development with the involvement of people from all sections of the society," he said.

On JDP's merger, Munda said negotiations were on in this regard for sometime and the issue was finalised after a discussion with former BJP MP and JDP president Salkhan Murmu, yesterday.
It was the A B Vajpayee-led NDA government, which had understood the aspirations of the people of Jharkhand and created a separate state to fulfil their dreams, he said adding Jharkhand has the potential to lead the country.

"We have the efficiency and potential to make Jharkhand a manufacturing hub and fulfil Modiji's dream of exporting goods made in India," Munda claimed.
Oozing confidence that BJP would form a government on its own in the next Assembly elections, Munda said some regional political parties have lost their credibility and have started disintegrating.

On the merger, Salkhan Murmu said the decision came forth not because of any compulsion, disappointment or greed, but the JDP had changed its political strategy only to achieve its goals under the BJP's banner.
