According to PSI A R Mahajan of Vartak Nagar police station, the woman, who resided in Lokmanya Tilak locality, went missing on October 7 following which her parents filed a complaint.
The woman had fallen in love with the accused, Sanjay Chakravarti, who she was in school with but had recently parted ways with him, police said.
However, Sanjay kept pursuing her and even threatened to end his life if she did not marry him following which the woman stopped going to office before being allegedly abducted.
Police have now registered an offence under sections 366 and 507 of the IPC against Sanjay and a manhunt has been launched to trace him and rescue the woman.
