Deputy Commissioner (DC) Jammu Simrandeep Singh yesterday ordered the dismissal of Mohammad Sohail Mir, a Patwari with Revenue Department, an official said today.
Mir, who was posted as Patwari Sehora, was caught by the Vigilance Organisation Jammu (VOJ) in February 2010 while demanding and accepting bribe from a local resident who was seeking attestation of his land records.
Charges were framed against the accused by the Judicial Magistrate and in April, special judge anti-corruption held him guilty and awarded him simple imprisonment for one year and a fine of Rs 5,000.
