JK govt mulling installing scanners to check use of polythene

Jammu and Kashmir government has set up a panel to check the feasibility of installing scanners at Lakhanpur Toll Post to detect illegal movement of banned polythene.
"Sanction is accorded to the constitution of a committee to explore the feasibility of installation of technical and electronic equipments -- scanners for checking and frisking vehicles passing through the Lakhanpur Toll Post at Lakhanpur, so as to detect illegal movement of banned polythene in the state," Secretary to General Administration Department (GAD), M A Bukhari said.
The panel is headed by Chief Engineer, Mechanical Engineering, Kashmir and the report would be submitted to the government within one month.
Jammu and Kashmir government has banned use of polythene in the state.
