"The matter has been taken up with Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs to constitute a committee headed by a High Court Judge (Retired) in pursuance of Supreme Court judgement", Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand said.
The panel will go into the details and fix the fee structure of private institutions in the State, Tara Chand said. Who also holds the portfolio of Education Ministry.
He underlined the importance of putting in place rational fee structure in private education institutes operating in the state and said "Issue would be resolved soon".
To improve performance of the students, he also announced that the state-run schools will now have frequent parent-teacher meetings.
"The parent-teacher meet should now be made regular feature and monthly sessions should be held to promote two way feedback and bring to fore new issues which can improve performance of the students", Chand said in a function on Annual Lecturers' Day.
Moreover, he also said that in order to inculcate moral education in the school curriculum, morning assembly will have at least 15 minutes slot for lecture on moral values.
"Proper focus needs to be given to reduce school dropout ratio and to bring the dropouts back into the fold of school network by such measures," he said adding that for this purpose, the good offices of Panchayat Raj Institution (RRIs) will be utilised.
Assuring full support to the genuine issues of those involved in noble profession of education, Tara Chand said that the sector is priority area of the government and all out efforts are underway to take the department to new heights by addressing infrastructure as well as staff requirements.
