JK spent Rs 1,325 cr in violation of budgetary provisions:CAG

Jammu and Kashmir government had spent over Rs 1,325 crore during 2013-14 in violation of budgetary provisions, according to the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India.
"It was noticed that expenditure of Rs 1325.33 crore was incurred in 68 major heads of account without any (budget) provision during 2013-14," said a CAG report on state finance for the year ending March 31, 2014.
This has been spent without provision in the original estimates and supplementary demand and without any re-appropriation orders to this effect, CAG report said.
Giving further details, the report said that the highest expenditure of Rs 401.51 crore without budget provision was in education department, followed by Rs 272.63 crore in social welfare department.
Rs 85.73 crore were spent in Industries and Commerce department, Rs 83.90 crore in Higher Education department, Rs 74.16 crore in Rural Development department, Rs 74 crore in housing and urban development, Rs 72.64 crore in agriculture department and Rs 70.14 crore and Rs three lakh in hospitality and protocol department.
