Mir was accompanied by several senior leaders of the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee.
The Congress leaders expressed their condolences to the families of those killed in the recent firing by Pakistani troops. They also enquired about the injured and wished them early recovery.
Expressing concern over the escalation in cross-border firing in the recent months, Mir said there was something "seriously wrong" in the country's policy to deal with the current situation.
Asked about issues concerning border residents, Mir favoured early steps to restore normalcy along the border.
He also demanded adequate enhancement in the relief package for the kin of those killed as well for those who were disabled due to injuries sustained in the firing.
