Roshni was admitted to Safdarjung hospital in a critical condition yesterday.
Doctors said a second operation was performed on her late last night to remove the blood clots from her skull.
She was allegedly attacked by her 23-year-old friend Akash inside the JNU's School of Languages yesterday morning following an argument.
Akash had allegedly hit her on the head with an axe before consuming poison and slitting his throat. He died in the AIIMS trauma centre few hours after the incident.
The victim is on ventilator. Although her condition is critical, she is showing signs of recovery. She is being constantly monitored, sources said.
According to the doctors, Roshni had suffered a severe head injury with depressed fracture.
