'Fashion Police' star Joan Rivers walked out of an interview with a channel because she felt she was being projected in a negative manner on the show.
The 81-year-old actress shot back at the journalist, after she called her comments on the celebrity fashion show mean, reported E! Online.
"It's not mean. I tell the truth. I'm sure I say the same things that all your viewers say to their friends sitting next to them on the couch. We're one of the few shows that says 'That's an ugly dress' and that's okay," Rivers said.
As the journalist continued to interview Rivers, she mentioned that the comedian was wearing fur on the cover of her new book, 'Diary of a Mad Diva', and suggested Rivers knew it would cause a stir with PETA protesters.
"This whole interview is becoming a defence interview," Rivers said. "Are you wearing leather shoes? Shut up. You're eating meat, you're eating chicken. Come to me when you're wearing a paper belt," she added.
Rivers announced at this point, she would be cutting the interview short. "I'm going, because all you've done is negative," Rivers said.
"I've made people laugh for 50 years. I am put on earth to make people laugh, my book is funny, I wear fur that was killed 15 years ago, I work for animal rights, you are not the person to interview someone that does humour. Sorry," she said.
The interviewer sat there in shock, thinking that Rivers was cracking a joke. But the star got up and walked out.
