JSW Energy appoints Sergio Luiz Pegoraro Rocha as COO

JSW Energy today said it has appointed Sergio Luiz Pegoraro Rocha Chief Operating Officer to drive its the Electric Vehicles (EV) business.

"Sergio Luiz Pegoraro Rocha has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer to drive the Electric Vehicles (EV) business of the Company," JSW Energy said in a BSE filing.

He will be joining after completion of Indian immigration formalities and will report to Prashant Jain, JMD & CEO of JSW Energy Ltd, it said.

According to the firm, he is a senior auto leader, with an extensive international automotive industry experience. He has been instrumental in setting up green field plants, acquisitions, brand launch and major transformations during his long career in the auto industry.

Native of Sao Paulo Brazil, Sergio started his career with Volkswagen, he has successfully worked across all organisation levels from C-Suite to plant floor and with labour unions, it said.

He has led business across different continents, managing enterprises of up to USD $ 17 billion in revenue. In his previous stint, he worked as President, CEO and Chairman of GM Korea (General Motors, Korea), Uzbekistan and Vietnam operations based out of Seoul, South Korea, it added.
