Speaking at the Annual Function-2016 of the Students' Legal Literacy Mission organised by HSLSA in Kurukshetra he suggested that court judgement should be delivered in Hindi or regional language.
At least, the verdict of the court should be made available in Hindi he said, an official release quoting Khattar said.
On this, Justice J S Khehar, Judge, Supreme Court, who was the chief guest at the function, directed the Haryana State Legal Services Authority (HSLSA) to send proposals in this regard.
The Chief Minister said that law helped change the society and put a check on criminal activities, but law alone would not be able to curb crime.
Everyone would have to make combined efforts to put a check on criminal trends, he said.
Speaking on the occasion, Justice Khehar said that it was a challenge to make people legally literate and aware about their rights and duties.
However, law and fundamental rights are equal for everyone in the Constitution of the country.
It is necessary to make people legally literate and aware about their economic, social and fundamental rights and HSLSA has been doing a commendable job in this direction, he said.
