A judicial probe report in the Forbesganj police firing incident in which four persons, including a pregnant woman and an infant, died nearly five years ago, will be soon tabled in the legislative assembly, Bihar government said today.
Replying to a starred question by Congress MLA Shakeel Ahmed Khan, representing Kadwa assembly seat in Katihar district, Home Minister in-charge of Bihar Bijendra Prasad Yadav told the state assembly that the judicial panel report has been received and it will be tabled in the Assembly after completion of due process.
Yadav, however, kept mum when asked by the member about time-frame for tabling the Forbesganj police firing incident's judicial report.
Four persons, including a pregnant woman and a 10-month-old infant, were killed in police firing on a mob at Bhajanpura village in Araria district during a protest by the local people against blockade of a pathway by the proprietor of an industrial unit there in June 2011.
Observing that the issue was sensitive, Khan implored the Home Minister in-charge to submit the judicial panel report with the Action Taken Report (ATR) in the matter.
The state government had suspended a homeguard jawan for jumping on a body and set up an one-man judicial inquiry commission headed by a retired Patna High Court judge Madhvendra Sharan to probe the police firing incident.
