The "Twilight Saga" and "The Hunger Games" franchise maker Summit Entertainment has signed on with White Horse Pictures to co-produce 'Emperor', the first in what could be a trilogy of movies about Julius Caesar and Marcus Brutus, reported Deadline.
The film will be based on "The Gates Of Rome" and "The Field Of Swords", the first two novels written by Conn Iggulden.
"We're looking forward to working with an incredible creative team on Emperor, a great property based on a unique and compelling series of books," Lionsgate Motion Picture Group co-chairs Rob Friedman and Patrick Wachsberger, said.
The script of the project will be written by "Cast Away" famed writer Broyles, Stephen Harrigan and Burr Steers and "The Grey" author Ian Mackenzie Jeffers.
