Jung asks civic body to address dog menace at GTB hospital

Delhi Lt Governor Najeeb Jung today asked the civic body to immediately address the issue of stray dogs venturing in the premises of GTB Hospital here after patients raised hygiene concerns.
Jung, who was carrying an inspection of the hospital, issued the direction after he received complaints from staff and patients about stray dogs roaming the hospital premises, according to officials of Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital.
During his visit, Jung inspected several wards in the main building along with the wards of the newly constructed Maternal & Child Health (MCH) Block, Private Ward, and Department of Endocrinology & Metabolism (DEM) Block.
The officials said that medical superintendent of GTB hospital informed Jung that new blocks of MCH, DEM and Private Wards have been commissioned besides CCTVs being installed, signboards updated and waste management practices streamlined.
He also informed the L-G that Directorate General Resettlement Security Agency is being hired, they said
Jung also asked the hospital to add more windows for reducing patient waiting time for registration and also directed that the dispensation of medicines at the pharmacy should be computerised for which a comprehensive proposal should be made by the hospital and submitted to the Health Department at the earliest.
Meanwhile, for renovation and modernisation of the hospital's kitchen, Jung appointed Delhi Institute of Tourism and Catering as a consultant.
