Junior doctors of the Calcutta National Medical College and Hospital (CNMCH) went on a flash strike for a few hours today demanding adequate security at work place.
The protests started after some of the junior doctors were allegedly heckled by people when a patient, suffering from dengue, died at the hospital yesterday.
In the morning the junior doctors went on a strike demanding police posting at the emergency ward of the hospital so that such incidents were not repeated.
As the hospital authorities agreed to review their demands, the medical students lifted the strike.
CNMCH medical superintendent-cum-vice-principal Sikha Banerjee said the authorities have agreed to assess the demands of the junior doctors.
