The junior engineer (MANREGA) Vikash Singh was caught red-handed while accepting Rs 10,000 from one Khudiram Hansdah, a villager engaged in construction of PCC road under MANREGA, sources said.
Hansdah had registered a complaint with the ACB accusing Singh of demanding bribe to clear his outstanding bills against the work he did under the MANREGA project.
After verifying the allegation made by Hansdah, a team of ACB led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Amar Kumar Pandey laid a trap and arrested Singh while he was accepting the bribe amount in Ghatsila, about 45 km from here.
