Justice Ambwani, who has been transferred from Allahabad High Court, took the oath last night.
Advocates of the court have been on a strike demanding transfer of two judicial officers posted at Jaipur.
President of the Rajasthan High Court Advocates' Association Ranjeet Joshi said when the advocates reached the court today, they saw a heavy police deployment on the court premises that was done to avoid any untoward development.
The advocates then sat down in the court corridor as a token of protest and came out after some time.
Rathore said the advocates will assemble in the court tomorrow and decide the further course of action regarding the protest.
Meanwhile, a fresh appeal was issued by the court administration seeking the advocates to call off the strike and appear in the court for the benefit of the plaintiffs.
