"I cannot allow the discussion on the issue under adjournment motion, since the courts are seized of it," Thimappa said.
Raising the issue, BJP members led by Jagadish Shettar demanded discussion on the alleged corruption cases involving Qamarul Islam, H S Mahadeva Prasad and Dinesh Gundurao whom the party calls as "tainted."
He said the legislature has all the rights to debate issues, even if they are before the courts and expressed disappointment over discussion not being allowed.
As the ruckus continued, Thimappa adjourned the house for tomorrow. Earlier, the House was adjourned for ten minutes for a meeting with leaders of all the parties to end the impasse on the matter but resumed after over 90 minutes.
