Kabuli gram, other pulses climb up to Rs 400/qtl

Select pulses led by kabuli gram spurted by up to Rs 400 per quintal at the wholesale pulses market today on brisk buying by stockists, driven by pick up in demand from dal mills and retailers.

Traders said, increased buying by stockists following upsurge in demand from dal mills and retailers against tight stocks position on fall in supplies from producing belts mainly pushed up kabuli gram and other pulses prices.

In the national capital, kabuli gram rose by Rs 400 to Rs 4,200-5,200 per quintal.

Rajmah chitra also shot up by Rs 300 to Rs 6,100-8,300 per quintal.

Gram edged up by Rs 50 to Rs 3750-3800 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality traded higher by Rs 100 each to Rs 3,800-4,200 and Rs 4,200-4,300 per quintal, respectively. Besan Shakti Bhog and Rajdhani quoted higher at Rs 1,840 each instead of Rs 1,820 each per 35 kg bag, respectively.

Arhar and its dal dara variety went up by Rs 100 and Rs 200 to Rs 3,900 and Rs 5,300-7,200 per quintal, respectively.

In line with overall trend, masoor small and bold edged higher by Rs 100 each to Rs 3,600-3,850 and Rs 3,750-3,900 per quintal, respectively. Its dal local and best quality were up by Rs 200 each to Rs 4,000-4,400 and Rs 4,100-4,500 per quintal, respectively.

Malka local and best quality, too, finished higher by Rs 100 each to Rs 4,100-4,300 and Rs 4,200-4,500 per quintal, respectively.

Following are today's pulses' rates (in Rs per quintal): Urad Rs 3,550-4,650, Urad Chilka (local) Rs 4,100-4,200, Urad best Rs 4,200-4,700, Dhoya Rs 4,600-4,800, Moong Rs 4,950-5,450, Dal Moong Chilka local Rs 5,500-5,700, Moong Dhoya local Rs 6,100-6,600 and best quality Rs 6,600-6,800.

Masoor small Rs 3,600-3,850, bold Rs 3,750-3,900, Dal Masoor local Rs 4,000-4,400, best quality Rs 4,100-4,500, Malka local Rs 4,100-4,400, best Rs 4,200-4,500, Moth Rs 3,500-3,900, Arhar Rs 3,900 Dal Arhar Dara Rs 5,300-7,200.

Gram Rs 3,750-3,800, Gram dal (local) Rs 3,800-4,200, best quality Rs 4,200-4,300, Besan (35 kg), Shakti bhog Rs 1,840, Rajdhani Rs 1,840, Rajma Chitra Rs 6,100-8,300, Kabuli Gram small Rs 4,200-5,200, Dabra Rs 2,700-2,800, imported Rs 4,700-5,100, Lobia Rs 3,400-3,600, Peas white Rs 3,400-3,450 and green Rs 3,500-3,600.
