Ramos filed court papers claiming he was punched and wrestled to the ground by the 'Black Skinhead' rapper after trying to take photos of him at Los Angeles International Airport on July 19, reported TMZ online.
"I was just trying to do my job I am speaking out today because I don't want what happened to me to ever happen to anyone else," Ramos said.
The lawsuit alleges the 36-year-old rapper 'suddenly attacked without warning or provocation', after the photographer asked if he could talk to him.
It is claimed Ramos needed crutches for two weeks after the attack and still uses a cane to walk due to persisting pain.
West now faces claims of assault, battery and negligence by the photographer who says the unprovoked attack was a violation of his civil rights.
