Kapas prices spurt by Rs 24.50 in futures trade

Kapas prices firmed up by Rs 24.50 to Rs 904.50 per 20 kilo in the evening session at the futures market today as participants widened their positions.
The exchange remained closed for the morning session on account of "Diwali Balipratipada".
Marketmen said building up of huge positions by players, mainly led to rise in kapas prices in futures market.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, kapas for delivery in March next year climbed by Rs 24.50, or 2.78 per cent, to Rs 904.50 per 20 kilo, with the business turnover of one open lot.
