Kapil Dev's coach cremated

Dronacharya awardee Desh Prem Azad, coach of legendary cricketer Kapil Dev, was cremated here today in the presence of a large number of sportspersons and administrators.
Sanjeev, elder son of Azad, who died after a brief illness in a hospital at Mohali yesterday, lit the pyre.
Besides Kapil Dev, another Azad's student Chetan Sharma, PCA Secretary M P Pandove, Patron of Chandigarh Lawn Tennis Association (CLTA) Rajan Kashyap, former Railway Minister and local MP, Pawan Bansal were also present.
Azad, who remained Kapil's coach till the early 1970s, was 75. He is survived by a wife and two sons.
He was currently holding the post of Director, Non-Residential Cricket Academies of PCA.
