Karti Chidambaram denies having multiple DINs

Karti P Chidambaram, son of outgoing Finance Minister P Chidambaram, today denied that he has multiple Director Identification Numbers (DINs) and said he has only one DIN which is used in all official matters.
"It is categorically denied that Mr Karti P Chidambaram has multiple approved DINs. It is clarified that he has only one approved DIN and it is the approved DIN that has been used in all official matters. He has not received any notice so far from the Registrar of Companies and if a notice is received a suitable reply will be given," said a statement issued on his behalf by Chartered Accountant R Balachandran.

Senior BJP leader Subramanian Swamy had filed complaint with the Corporate Affairs Ministry alleging that Karti Chidambaram had multiple DINs, which is not permissible under the Companies Law.
The Corporate Affairs Ministry had asked one of its regional directors to seek explanations from Karti Chidambaram.
"Karti Chidambaram has been given time for 15 days after which further course of action will be decided in the light of his explanation, if any," the Ministry had said.
