The classic is screened as part of the Academy's plans to hold public screenings of legendary films at select venues every Sunday in the runup to the upcoming 20th edition of the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK).
KCA will hold the screening in association with the 'Manaveeyam Theruvorakootam' collective, a gathering of cultural and cinema buffs,
"Colour of Paradise" (1999), the fourth from the celebrated director following his Oscar-nominated "Children of Heaven", is both paean to the divine and rebuking parable of the facile and materialist portrayal of children's stories in mainstream cinema, a KCA release said here today.
This enchantment contrasts with the shame, apprehension and anger his widower father feels at being burdened with a blind son. A fact he is trying to hide from his new fiancee, it said.
The film will be screened at 'Manaveeyam Veedhi'.
IFFK 2015, Kerala's premier film festival, is being held from December 4-11.
