Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has asked the NDMC to provide the video recording of its meeting held in February 3 this year.

The move comes after Kejriwal, who presided over the meeting, was denied the video recording by the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), citing that some members have objected to the sharing of the recording.

"Refusal to provide recordings of the meeting to the presiding officer(me) on such flimsy ground raises doubts about the intentions of the secretary and the chairman," Kejriwal said in his letter to the NDMC's chairman.

Citing NDMC rules, the chief minister said recordings of the meetings are available to the members of the Council for free of cost and to the general public on payment of certain charges.

"The meetings of the Council are akin to the sittings of the Lok Sabha, the Rajya Sabha, state assemblies or municipal councils. These are not secret meetings, but open to the visitors, media and often televised live. By no stretch of imagination the meeting of the Council can be treated as secret," he said.

Kejriwal directed that the video recording may immediately be provided to him to enable signing of the minutes of the meeting.
