Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal today took a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying people don't need speeches but work.
He said BJP lost the recent assembly election here because of "arrogance" despite being given a strong mandate by the people in general elections held last year.
"In May, BJP was voted to power with a strong mandate. In 8-9 months, it lost Delhi assembly polls. This was because arrogance.
"We don't need speeches, we want work. People will fall prey to speeches once, twice or thrice. But what after that?" Kejriwal said without taking Modi's name in his concluding remarks after the address of Lt Governor Najeeb Jung's in the Delhi Assembly.
He added that people voted for his party for 49-day rule and the promises made by the party.
"People voted for us for 49-day government in which electricity and water tariff was slashed and corruption was reduced.
"We opened a telephone line to deal with corruption cases. A common man had the power of recording the conversations of a corrupt officer and get him arrested. We will soon start the helpline all over again.
"Through Delhi Dialouge, we could communicate to the people our vision for Delhi. Now we have to fulfill the promises," Kejriwal said.
