With www.Keralatourism.Org facilitating participation from across the world, the competition that began on Saturday with the theme 'Kerala' will see the topper getting Rs five lakh.
The second and third prizes are purses of Rs three lakh and Rs two lakh respectively. There are also five consolation prizes of Rs 1 lakh each.
"It's for the first time we are coming out with a contest endowed with such huge amounts as prize money," Kerala Tourism Minister A P Anil Kumar said here in a release today.
The selected images, which will depict Kerala in multiple perspectives, will be further added to Kerala tourism's image bank.
"This competition that attracts participants from across the globe will further expand the state's tourism market and encourage more visitors to explore our land," Kerala Tourism Secretary, G Kamala Vardhana Rao said.
