Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan today opposed Tamil Nadu's demand for raising the height of Mullaperiyar dam to 152 feet saying the state will not accept it.
Talking to reporters, he sought a study by a group of international experts about the strength of the dam.
Vijayan said Kerala cannot unilaterally decide on the issue as it needed concurrence of the Centre as well as Tamil Nadu government.
"We will try to achieve such a consensus," he said.
The Tamil Nadu government has been demanding raising of the dam's height from 136 feet to 152 feet.
