Forest Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan said that if suggestions made in the report are implemented, it would adversely affect the ecology of the state.
"The suggestions made in the report is totally against the interest of Kerala's environment and forest. So, we cannot agree with it's recommendations," he said, inaugurating the government's World Environment Day programme here.
The Minister said the state would submit to the Centre alternative suggestions to the TSR Subramanian report.
"The report should be corrected incorporating Kerala's suggestions," Radhakrishnan said.
The TSR Subramanian committee was appointed by the Environment Ministry on August 29 2014 to review Environment (Protection) Act, 1986; the Forest (Conservation) Act, 1980; the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972; the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981.
The report is currently under the consideration of the Environment Ministry, headed by Prakash Javadekar.
