Kerala take on Chennaiyin post Taylor's axing

Desperate to notch up a win after after four losses on the trot which has cost the job of their English coach Peter Taylor, last season runners-up Kerala Blasters take on Chennaiyin FC in a round seven Indian Super League football match here tomorrow.
Experienced Taylor, who had managed England national team for one match, was shown the door after he oversaw Kerala to plunge to the bottom of the league table with one win, one draw and four losses in six games.
Taylor's assistant and former East Bengal coach Trevor Morgan, who took over the team responsibilities in caretaker capacity, has a tough job in hand to revive the fortunes of Sachin Tendulkar co-owned team.

But Morgan believes his team is only one win away from getting back on track as they face Chennaiyin at home tomorrow.
"There will be something different tomorrow but what that is I cannot say now. All I can say is that we need to win the game and to win the game, we got to do well going forward. We will field a team that will give us a lot of options going forward, and at the same time, also make sure we do not concede goals," Morgan said at the pre-match media briefing.
Morgan said Kerala have not been outplayed in any of the four matches which they lost and were unlucky to lose by narrow solitary goal margins.

"Last year, we were making mistakes but not getting punished. This season, every mistake you make, you get punished. In football, you are one result away from finding form. I cannot say there is lack of self-belief in the team because we are trying everyday. We just need that one win to set you off," said Morgan.

Chennaiyin have not had the best of starts and are now placed fifth in the eight-team league standings with nine points from six matches.
Assistant coach Vivek Nagul knows the hosts will be difficult opponents despite their bottom rank on the table.
"They are a good football team and we are ready for the match. They have a strong side and have strong support and we look at this game like any other. It's an away game and we expect tough competition," said Nagul.

Chennaiyin have been reliant on Colombian striker Stiven Mendoza and Brazilian marquee player Elano Blumer to get them the goals, although Nagul gave a different assessment.
"We have trust in all our players. Others will also start scoring. If Elano and Mendoza are scoring, it's good for us but we are not entirely dependent on them. We have other good players and have full trust in them," he said.
